Hedge Apples
The fruit of the Osage Orange tree, the hedge apple provides one of the most indicative signs of fall as their chartreuse fruits displayed in mass quantity across the Ozark countryside. About the size of a grapefruit, the hedge apple is a well-known home remedy for insect repellent.
It is believed that placing the fruit around a home foundation or basement provides relief from common household pests such as crickets, spiders and snakes. We recommend placing a hedge apple in your closet for insect relief.
In addition, they can easily be used as a fall decoration in a bowl or as an accent.
